MMC established its footprint in the water industry with the acquisition over 74% interest in Aliran Ihsan Resources Bhd (AIRB). The acquisition will allow MMC to leverage on AIRB’s expertise to grow its utilities business both locally and internationally and enable it to be an integrated water and power producer.

The AIRB group of companies is principally involved in the water treatment industry. It provides a wide spectrum of water related services including operations and maintenance to rehabilitation and restoration works through its subsidiaries and associated companies.

Dominant water concessionaire

With a portfolio 16 water treatment plants throughout Johor, the group supplies approximately 75% of treated water to consumers in the state.
