MMC's strategic acquisition of a 70% equity interest in PTP is expected to drive the Group's long-term earnings growth in the Transport & Logistics sector. It has also given MMC a controlling stake in a world-class port and Malaysia's leading port operations.
Excellent location and harbour conditions PTP is strategically located at the confluence of the world's major shipping lanes. Situated in a sheltered bay with 16 metres of deep waters and an approach channel of up to 420 metres wide, the port has no weather or tide restrictions, enabling round-the-clock berthing for all ships.


Phenomenal growth PTP has recorded a phenomenal growth since commencing operations in 2000, and handled 4.2 million TEU of cont r 6 million TEU annually, and is the regional hub for Maersk Sealand, the world's largest main line operator, and Evergreen Marine Corp., Asia's largest shipping line, as well as services from other regional carriers.

World-class efficiency PTP received the Highest Berth Productivity 2005 Award at the APM Terminals Awards in Shanghai. Daily operations at PTP consistently grind out 34 gross moves per hour per crane, making it one of the most efficient ports in the world.
